Wooting 80U ISO Ghost – Hall-Effect Gaming Keyboard with Lekker L60 V2
Ideal for beginners
The Wooting 80U ISO in the Ghost color variant combines a compact 80% layout with analog Hall Effect technology and a discreet gray case. Instead of just distinguishing between pressed and not pressed, the keyboard recognizes how far a key is moved. The trigger point can be individually adjusted between 0.1 and 4.0 mm. Rapid Trigger reacts dynamically to the actual key movement and enables particularly fast repeated inputs - this feels wonderfully direct when gaming. This version has an ISO layout and is explicitly delivered without keycaps. This makes it perfect if you are planning your own ISO keycap set anyway. The Wooting 80U is wired via USB and supports PC, macOS and Linux. The compact 80% format retains the important navigation and arrow keys, but does without the classic number pad. This leaves more space for the mouse - quite pleasant in the FPS match.
For IT professionals & enthusiasts
Inside, pre-lubricated Lekker L60 V2 Linear Magnetic Switches work. Hall effect sensors continuously measure the key travel and thus form the technical basis for rapid triggers, adjustable activation points and other analog functions. The magnetic switches are hot-swappable and can be replaced without soldering. The Wooting 80HE works with True 8 kHz polling and thus achieves a polling rate of up to 8000 Hz. This corresponds to a polling interval of only 0.125 ms. N-key rollover and anti-ghosting also ensure that numerous parallel inputs are reliably captured. If you don't just use your keyboard, but also like to set every parameter yourself, you get quite a lot of leeway here.
Rapid Trigger
Rapid Trigger does not work with a fixed reset point. Instead, the activation and deactivation is based on the actual movement of the switch. This allows buttons to be triggered again more quickly after a change of direction. This technology shows its strength, especially with fast strafing movements, counter-strafing and repeated inputs.
Adjustable Actuation
The activation point can be configured for individual keys in 0.1 mm increments between 0.1 and 4.0 mm. WASD extremely sensitive, other keys prefer a little more travel? No problem. This allows the input behavior to be adjusted much more precisely to your playing style and personal preferences than with classic mechanical switches.
True 8 kHz Polling Rate
With True 8 kHz polling, inputs are transmitted at up to 8000 Hz. The polling interval is thus only 0.125 ms. Together with the fast Hall Effect acquisition, the Wooting 80HE is consistently designed for low input delays and competitive gaming.
Rappy Snappy
Rappy Snappy monitors at least two selected buttons and takes into account their actual pressure depth. If two buttons are pressed at the same time, the button that is pressed further can be prioritized. Especially with opposing movement inputs, this enables fast and controlled changes of direction.
Lekker L60 V2 Switches
The built-in Lekker L60 V2 are linear magnetic Hall-effect switches and are pre-lubricated from the factory. Instead of a classic electrical contact point, the position of the switch is detected magnetically. This enables analog displacement measurement and functions such as rapid triggers as well as freely adjustable activation points. Thanks to hot-swap, compatible magnetic switches can be changed without soldering.
Per-Key RGB & LED Bar
Each key has individually configurable RGB lighting. In addition, the Wooting 80U integrates an LED bar that is not only intended for optical effects. For example, it can visualize active functions or profiles. Especially with matching keycaps, the gray Ghost case can be installed quite individually in the setup.
Sound & Feel
Wooting combines a silicone gasket mount with a polycarbonate plate on the 80U. The flexible design dampens some of the impact energy and provides a softer typing feel. The polycarbonate plate also supports a less sharp sound character. Screw-down stabilizers complement the construction and can be exchanged for compatible models if necessary.
Wootility
Wootility can be used to configure activation points, rapid triggers, RGB lighting, analog functions and numerous other settings. The software can be used as an application or via a compatible browser. Several profiles can be saved directly on the keyboard, so that the most important settings are not constantly dependent on running software.
Ghost – grey case for individual builds
This variant of the Wooting 80HE comes in the gray Ghost color. Together with the delivery without keycaps, an interesting basis for an individually matched keyboard is created. Simple gray keycaps, strong color accents or a completely custom theme - here the keycap set decides where the journey goes visually.
Conclusion & Recommendation
The Wooting 80U ISO Ghost is aimed at gamers and keyboard enthusiasts who want to combine fast Hall Effect technology with a customizable setup. Lekker L60 V2 switches, rapid triggers, adjustable activation points, Rappy Snappy, True 8 kHz polling, hot-swap and extensive Wootility settings provide plenty of scope for competitive gaming. The gray Ghost case stands out pleasantly from the usual black gaming keyboards - and because no keycaps are included, your own look can be implemented consistently. If you're looking for an individually configurable Hall Effect gaming keyboard, then you won't go wrong with the Wooting 80U ISO Ghost.
