The Keychron V6 Ultra 8K Red Switch (CH) combines a complete ISO-CH layout including a number pad with pleasantly linear switches and flexible wireless use. Especially if you don't want to do without the number pad in the office, home office or gaming, you get a convenient full-size keyboard with a surprising number of customization options. The pre-lubricated Keychron Silk POM Red switches trigger linearly and without a noticeable pressure point. This results in an even, quiet key press - pleasant when typing and wonderfully direct when gaming. Connection is via 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth 5.3 or classic via USB-C. And with up to 660 hours of battery life with the lights off, the charging cable has to wait quite a long time for its next use.
Technically, the V6 Ultra 8K goes much further than a typical full-size keyboard. Wired and over 2.4 GHz, it works with a polling rate of 8000 Hz. The polling rate is 125 Hz via Bluetooth. NKRO is available both wired and wireless. Inside, a powerful MCU with 1 MB of flash memory works. The keyboard relies on ZMK firmware and can be programmed via the browser-based Keychron launcher. Key assignments, macros, shortcuts, lighting and other functions can be adjusted without classic desktop software.
The Keychron Launcher works directly in the compatible web browser. It can be used to change keymaps, create macros, edit lighting settings and manage firmware functions. The launcher supports various operating systems and does not require permanently installed configuration software.
The integrated 4000 mAh lithium polymer battery achieves up to 660 hours of runtime when the backlight is turned off. With RGB lighting activated at the lowest brightness level, up to 200 hours are possible. The keyboard can continue to be used while charging.
For fast wireless connections, 2.4 GHz with up to 8000 Hz polling rate is available. Bluetooth 5.3 also enables the connection with up to three devices. The whole thing is complemented by the wired USB-C connection - practical when switching between desktop, notebook and other devices.
A powerful ARM-based MCU with 1 MB of flash memory forms the technical basis of the V6 Ultra 8K. This allows the high polling rate, extensive programming options and sophisticated firmware functions to be reliably implemented.
This variant is equipped with pre-lubricated Keychron Silk POM Red switches. The linear switch has an actuation force of 45 ± 15 gf, a travel of 2 ± 0.4 mm and a total travel of 4.0 ± 0.4 mm. The service life is stated to be up to 50 million actuations. The stem, upper housing and base are made of POM. The combination of materials and the factory lubrication ensure a smooth movement sequence and a restrained typing sound. For quick double strokes or longer typing sessions, this feels pleasantly uncomplicated.
The V6 Ultra 8K has a modular design and allows numerous adjustments. Switches, keycaps and other components can be changed without having to disassemble or replace the entire keyboard.
The Gasket mount design combines a flexible PC plate with several damping elements. Acoustic foam, PET layers, EPDM foam and additional case damping reduce resonances and give the typing feel a little more compliance. Especially with a large full-size keyboard, a clean acoustic tuning is noticeable pretty quickly.
The V6 Ultra 8K supports macOS, Windows and Linux. A system switch makes it easier to switch between Mac and Windows mode. Matching additional keycaps for both platforms are provided, so that the keyboard can be easily adapted to different workstations.
The OSA Double-Shot PBT Keycaps combine a height similar to the OEM profile with a more rounded shape reminiscent of SA Keycaps. The Double-Shot process ensures permanently shaped lettering, while PBT is resistant to shine and wear.
Thanks to hot-swappable sockets, the mechanical switches can be replaced without soldering. Most mechanical 3-pin and 5-pin MX switches are supported, including manufacturers such as Cherry, Gateron, Kailh and Panda. Ideal if you want to get your hands on something tactile or particularly quiet later on.
Screw-down PCB stabilizers stabilize larger keys such as Spacebar, Enter, and Shift. The design reduces unwanted wobble while making it easier to maintain and adjust the stabilizers.
The south-facing RGB backlight offers more than 22 lighting effects, as well as static white lighting. Settings can be adjusted through the Keychron Launcher.
Per-Key RGB allows the individual color adjustment of individual keys. This allows important gaming keys, shortcuts or functional areas, for example, to be visually separated from each other.
With Mix RGB, the keyboard can be divided into two lighting zones. Both areas can be provided with different effects – a small detail that can be used to create an astonishing amount of nonsense or an astonishing amount of order.
