Description

Keychron Q1 Ultra 8K Black – 75% aluminum keyboard with 8K wireless and ISO-CH

Ideal for beginners

The Keychron Q1 Ultra 8K combines a compact 75% layout with Swiss ISO-CH key binding, wireless freedom and a pleasantly direct typing feel. Despite the smaller footprint, arrow keys, function keys and a practical rotary control remain within reach. This makes it convenient for home office, office, gaming and daily use.

In this variant, pre-lubricated Keychron Silk POM Red switches are installed. They work linearly, require 45 ± 15 gf of actuation force and do not have any noticeable tactile resistance. The result is an even, smooth keystroke – pleasant for fast typing and quite entertaining when every movement in the game is supposed to be perfect.

For IT professionals & enthusiasts

Under the hood, things get a lot more technical: ZMK firmware, 8000 Hz polling rate over USB-C and 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth 5.3, NKRO and hot-swap support for almost all mechanical 3-pin and 5-pin MX switches. In addition, there is a CNC-machined aluminum case, a PC plate, screwed PCB stabilizers, multiple damping layers and KSA double-shot PBT keycaps. Adjustments to buttons, macros, lighting and firmware are made directly via the browser-based Keychron launcher.

KEYCHRON Q1 ULTRA 8K

The Q1 Ultra 8K is a 75% custom metal wireless mechanical keyboard. It supports 2.4GHz, Bluetooth 5.3, and USB-C, combining fast transfer with extensive customization options.

Color Styles

This version has the black, anodized aluminum case. The dark keycaps are complemented by color accents and fit well into restrained desktop and gaming setups.

Ultra-Fast 8K Wireless Performance

Via 2.4 GHz and the wired USB-C connection, the keyboard achieves a polling rate of 8000 Hz. Especially for fast games or very direct inputs, this reduces the time between keystroke and processing. Bluetooth 5.3 also allows you to connect to up to three devices.

660 Hours of Use on A Single Charge

The integrated 4000 mAh lithium polymer battery achieves up to 660 hours of runtime when the lighting is turned off. With RGB on the lowest brightness, up to 200 hours are possible. The keyboard can still be used wired while charging.

An Epic Core Inside The Keyboard

A powerful ARM-based microcontroller with 1 MB of flash memory forms the technical basis. It enables 8000 Hz both wired and over 2.4 GHz and offers additional scope for CMC functions and individual configurations.

A Refined Piece Of Metal Art

The housing is made of CNC-machined 6063 aluminum and is milled, polished and sandblasted in several processing steps. In the black version, an anodized surface provides the characteristic finish.

Aesthetic PC Back Plate

A polycarbonate back plate complements the aluminum case. The surface is resistant to scratches and sets a deliberately reduced visual accent on the underside.

Keychron Silk POM Switch

The built-in Silk POM Red Switches are already factory-lubricated and have POM components for smooth running. The Red Switch works linearly with 45 ± 15 gf actuation force, 2 ± 0.4 mm travel and 4.0 ± 0.4 mm total travel. The service life is specified as up to 50 million actuations.

Satisfying Keyboard Acoustics

Multiple layers of material take care of sound and typing feel. Sound Absorbing Foam, IXPE Foam, PET Film, Latex Bottom Pad, Bottom Case Acoustic Foam and Bottom Case PET Film reduce vibration, resonance and unwanted cavity noise.

Keycap

The double-shot PBT keycaps are resistant to abrasion and greasy fingerprints. The legends are created in the double-shot process and cannot simply rub off.

Top Case

The upper part of the housing is made of solid aluminum. The high weight reduces movement on the table and supports a rich, controlled typing feel.

Switch

The linear Silk POM Red switches are aimed at users who prefer a smooth key travel without a tactile hump. This feels pleasantly direct, especially during fast repetitions.

Plate

The PC plate holds the switches in place and at the same time affects flexibility, sound and stroke. Polycarbonate provides a slightly more compliant typing experience compared to harder metal plates.

Sound Absorbing Foam

The absorbent foam layer reduces echo and resonance in the cabinet, contributing to a cleaner, less hollow keyboard sound.

IXPE Foam

The IXPE layer sits between the switches and the PCB. It reduces the transmission of vibrations and at the same time influences the acoustic characteristics at the stroke.

PET Film

PET films protect components from dust and scratches, serve as an additional layer of insulation and provide light acoustic damping.

PCB

The hot-swap PCB registers the key inputs and allows mechanical switches to be changed without soldering. This allows the typing feel to be changed relatively easily later.

Latex Bottom Pad

The soft latex pad in the lower structure reduces vibrations and noise and contributes to the lightly padded stop of the entire Double Gasket system.

Bottom Case Acoustic Foam

An additional acoustic foam layer in the lower case reduces resonances. If you prefer more flex in the construction, you can also remove the corresponding acoustic pad, according to the manufacturer.

Bottom Case PET Film

The bottom PET film complements the insulation, protects internal surfaces and supports the finely tuned damping of the multi-layer housing structure.

Bottom Case

The bottom of the case is also made of CNC-milled aluminum. Together, the Q1 Ultra 8K weighs an impressive 1724 ± 10 g – so it stays pretty resolutely where it is placed.

Suitable for All Devices

The keyboard supports macOS, Windows, and Linux. Additional Windows and macOS keycaps are available, as well as a system switcher. Two different layout configurations can be saved directly to the keyboard.

Program with Launcher

The Keychron Launcher runs in the browser and allows the remapping of keys, macros, key combinations, RGB settings and firmware functions. Separate configuration software does not have to be permanently installed for this.

Anytime, Anywhere Access

The launcher is web-based and therefore available wherever a compatible browser and Internet access are available. To configure, the keyboard is connected wired.

Compatible with All Platforms

The configuration works on Windows, macOS and Linux, among others. Keychron mentions Chrome, Edge and Opera as compatible browsers for the launcher.

Safe Inputs

The Q1 Ultra 8K uses the open source firmware ZMK. The publicly available code allows the community to test and further develop the firmware.

Always Up to Date

Since the Keychron Launcher works as a web application, the latest version is automatically available. There is no need for separate installation packages or classic software updates.

DOUBLE-GASKET DESIGN

Silicone pads between the upper and lower cabinets reduce acoustic resonances while allowing the Gasket setup to move freely. The additional acoustic material on the bottom improves the sound but reduces flex slightly.

KSA Profile Double-shot PBT Keycaps

The spherical KSA keycaps are made of double-shot PBT. The material is oil-resistant, robust and designed for long-term use. The keycaps of this version are not designed as shine-through keycaps.

HOT-SWAPPABLE

The switches can be replaced without soldering. Almost all common mechanical 3-pin and 5-pin MX switches are supported, including compatible models from Cherry, Gateron and Kailh.

All New Screw-In PCB Stabilizers

Screw-down PCB stabilizers reduce lateral play on longer keys. Spacebar, Shift, Enter and other large keys feel more stable and controlled.

Unlock Dynamic Backlit Control

The south-facing RGB lighting offers more than 22 lighting modes, including static white. In addition, Per-Key RGB and Mix RGB are available.

Per-key RGB

With Per-Key RGB, the color of each individual key can be individually configured. This allows functional color codes to be implemented as well as eye-catching gaming setups.

MIX RGB

Mix RGB divides the keyboard into two individually configurable lighting zones. Both areas can use different colors and effects.
