Keychron K4 HE White Wood – Magnetic precision in the Swiss ISO-CH layout
Ideal for beginners
A keyboard for tables, texts and the game round afterwards: The Keychron K4 HE White Wood combines a compact 96% format with a number pad and the familiar Swiss ISO-CH layout. This keeps the number keys close at hand, while leaving more space for the mouse on the desk. The white frame with light wooden side panels brings a natural accent to the office, home office or gaming setup. You can get started right away via USB-C; 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth are available for wireless work.
For IT professionals & enthusiasts
The magnetic key capture enables individually adjustable trigger points, dynamic reset with Rapid Trigger and multiple actions on one key. QMK firmware and the Keychron Launcher web app allow your own key assignments, macros and settings for the magnetic switches. In addition, there is hot-swappable, an aluminum plate in the tray-mount structure and several damping layers. This allows the keyboard to be tuned for both concentrated typing and fast game input.
Special Edition: white aluminium frame and light natural wood
In the White Wood version, a white aluminum frame and side elements made of light natural wood meet. The case back is made of ABS plastic, the mounting plate is made of aluminum. This combination of materials gives the keyboard its characteristic look. The Special Edition also includes a black version with dark wood side panels.
Swiss ISO-CH layout in a compact 96% format
This model has the Swiss ISO-CH layout. The 96% format combines letter field, function keys, arrow keys and number pad on a compact footprint. Especially for regular number work, a separate number pad remains available without needing the width of a classic full-size keyboard.
Gateron Double-Rail Magnetic Nebula Switches
The installed Gateron Double-Rail Magnetic Nebula Switches work linearly and are factory-lubricated. Their double guide stabilizes the key stamp during movement. The key depth is detected contactlessly via magnetic sensors. The switches have an initial force of 40 gf and a final force of 60 gf; the manufacturer specifies a service life of 150 million actuations.
Individually adjustable trigger point
The actuation point can be set for each key between 0.2 and 3.8 mm in increments of 0.1 mm. An early actuation point is suitable for light, fast input. A deeper actuation point can help reduce accidental keystrokes when typing. The sensitivity does not have to be the same for all keys.
Last Key Priority and Snap Click
Last Key Priority, or LKP for short, gives priority to the last button pressed when paired with appropriately configured keys. Snap Click, on the other hand, takes the press depth into account: When entering at the same time, the lower press key is preferred and the less deeply pressed key is reset. Both functions are disabled by default and can be turned on in the Keychron Launcher.
One key, multiple actions with Dynamic Keystrokes
Dynamic Keystrokes allows up to four different actions on one key. The commands assigned depend on how deep the key is pressed and when it is released. For example, a flat press can trigger a walking motion, and a deeper button press can switch to running.
Dynamic Rapid Trigger
Dynamic Rapid Trigger orients activation and reset to the actual key movement. This means that the key does not have to reach a fixed reset point for the next input. This supports fast repetitions and precise changes of direction when short movements are required in the game.
Analog mode for graduated inputs
In analog mode, the pressure depth is translated into a variable input value. In compatible games, movements or acceleration can be dosed in this way, similar to an analog game controller. Between a light tap and a full press, different input strengths are available.
Programming with QMK and Keychron Launcher
The QMK open-source firmware forms the basis for individual key assignments, macros, shortcuts and key combinations. The Keychron Launcher web app can also be used to configure trigger points, magnetic switch functions and lighting, as well as firmware updates. The configurator runs directly in the browser. To set it up, the keyboard is connected via USB and the launcher is opened in a current version of Chrome, Edge or Opera.
2.4 GHz, Bluetooth 5.2 and USB-C
The K4 HE offers three types of connection: 2.4 GHz wireless via the included receiver, Bluetooth 5.2 and a wired USB-C connection. Up to three devices can be paired via Bluetooth, which can be switched between. This is practical if, for example, a work computer, a private laptop and a tablet are used at the same desk.
Responsive inputs and N-key rollover
The keyboard works with a polling rate of 1000 Hz via 2.4 GHz and USB-C, and 125 Hz via Bluetooth. N-key rollover is supported wirelessly and wired. Multiple keys pressed at the same time can also be detected.
ARM processor with 256 KB flash memory
Inside, a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 processor with 256 KB of flash memory works. Together with the QMK firmware, it provides the basis for processing the inputs and the programmable functions.
Muted keyboard acoustics
Factory-lubricated switches, 3.5mm EVA acoustic foam, EPDM foam, a PET bottom film, and a silicone pad affect the sound and reduce noise and vibration in the cabinet. The result is a muffled stroke with a rather deep sonic character. Plate-mounted stabilizers support large buttons such as spacebar and enter key for smooth movements.
For Windows, macOS and Linux
The keyboard supports Windows, macOS and Linux. A system switch makes it easier to switch between Mac and Windows. For both systems, separate key assignments can be saved on the keyboard. Additional keycaps for Mac and Windows are included in the scope of delivery, so that the labeling also matches the system used.
Double-shot PBT keycaps in OSA profile
The Special Edition uses double-shot PBT keycaps in an OSA profile with rounded key surfaces. The labels are incorporated in a two-component process. PBT provides a durable surface for daily use. The keycaps are not translucent: the RGB lighting is visible between the keys, the labels themselves do not shine through.
Hot-swap with matching switch compatibility
The switches can be replaced without soldering. This version is only compatible with Gateron Double-Rail Magnetic Switches. Gateron Magnetic Jade, Gateron KS-20, Keychron Ultra-Fast Lime, and traditional mechanical MX switches cannot be used in this model.
North-facing RGB lighting
The RGB lighting offers more than 22 effects. In the Keychron Launcher, the hue, saturation, brightness and effect speed can be adjusted. This means that the design ranges from discreet lighting for everyday work to moving color effects for the game round in the evening.
4000 mAh battery for cordless work
The rechargeable lithium polymer battery has a capacity of 4000 mAh. With the lights off, the manufacturer mentions a wireless runtime of up to 110 hours. The actual runtime depends on the settings and usage.
