Description

Keychron K2 HE White Wood – Magnetic precision in the Swiss ISO-CH layout

Ideal for beginners

E-mails in the morning, project work in the afternoon, a game round in the evening: The Keychron K2 HE White Wood combines these areas of application in a compact keyboard. The 75% format leaves room for the mouse and retains the function keys and the separate arrow keys. The Swiss ISO-CH layout ensures a familiar key arrangement. The fully assembled keyboard can be connected via USB-C, a 2.4 GHz receiver or Bluetooth. Light wood accents, shaped keycaps and a muffled typing sound make it a pleasant companion in the office, home office and gaming.

For IT professionals & enthusiasts

The K2 HE offers control down to the individual keystroke. Magnetic position measurement, individually adjustable trigger points, dynamic rapid triggers and analog inputs allow different settings for work and play. The open QMK firmware and the Keychron launcher complement these possibilities with freely assignable buttons, macros and customizable lighting. In addition, there are interchangeable magnetic switches, screw-on stabilizers and a multi-layered structure for sound damping.

Special Edition: Aluminium meets natural wood

The White Wood version is part of the Special Edition. Its aluminium frame is complemented by light-coloured side elements made of natural wood. An aluminium plate, a sub-housing made of ABS plastic and the tray-mount structure form the construction. The Wood Special Edition is available in white with light wood and in black with dark wood. The natural grain gives the side elements their own character.

Gateron Double-Rail Magnetic Switches

Linear Gateron Double-Rail Magnetic Nebula Switches version 1 are installed. Their double guide stabilizes the movement of the switch punch, while the factory lubrication ensures smooth running. The initial force is 40 g, the final force 60 g. The switches are designed for 150 million actuations. Since the button position is magnetically detected, the release can be adjusted via software.

Advanced TMR Sensors

Each button has its own TMR sensor. TMR stands for Tunneling Magnetoresistance: The technology detects changes in the magnetic field via changes in electrical resistance and determines the position of the button from this. In this way, the operating depth is detected contactlessly. This position measurement forms the basis for adjustable trigger points, rapid triggers and analog inputs.

Individually adjustable trigger point

The trigger point can be set for each key between 0.2 and 3.8 mm in steps of 0.1 mm. An early release point is suitable for inputs with short key paths. A lower trigger point requires a more deliberate stroke and can reduce accidental inputs. This allows movement keys, for example, to react differently than the other keys.

Last Key Priority and Snap Click

Last Key Priority, or LKP for short, gives priority to the last button pressed. This supports quick changes of direction when corresponding key assignments are made. Snap Click, on the other hand, takes into account the depth of operation: If two assigned keys are held at the same time, the lower button is given priority and the one pressed flatter is reset. Both functions are disabled by default and can be switched on in the Keychron Launcher if necessary.

One button, multiple actions

Dynamic Keystrokes, or DKS for short, allows up to four actions on one key. Which action is triggered depends on the depth of operation and the release. For example, a light button press can start a movement and a deeper press can trigger another action. Additional commands can be assigned to different points when released.

Dynamic Rapid Trigger

Dynamic Rapid Trigger adapts the activation and reset of a key to its movement. Even an upward movement can reset the key so that it triggers again when pressed again. This supports quick repetitions and immediate switching between individual inputs.

Analog mode for metered inputs

In analog mode, the actuation depth is translated into variable input values. This allows a button to work in a similar way to an analog control element of a controller. In appropriately supported games, it can be used to dose the acceleration or control a movement depending on the key travel.

Programming with QMK and Keychron Launcher

The QMK firmware allows individual key assignments, macros and key combinations. The Keychron launcher web app also adjusts trigger points, magnetic key functions and lighting. For configuration, the keyboard is connected to the computer via USB cable. The launcher can be opened in a current version of Chrome, Edge or Opera.

2.4 GHz, Bluetooth and USB-C

Three connection types are available for gaming and daily use. The keyboard works wirelessly with a 1000 Hz polling rate via the 2.4 GHz receiver. The same polling rate is available in USB-C cable operation. Bluetooth 5.2 allows pairing with up to three devices and switching between them - for example, between work computer, notebook and tablet.

Responsiveness and reliable key capture

The polling rate of 1000 Hz over USB-C and 2.4 GHz ensures short polling intervals when transferring inputs. N-Key Rollover supports the detection of simultaneously pressed keys in both wired and wireless operation. This is just as useful for key combinations as it is for several game keys held at the same time.

ARM processor as control center

An ARM Cortex-M4 processor with 32-bit architecture and 256 KB of flash memory handles the processing of key inputs and the execution of the firmware. Together with QMK, it forms the technical basis for the programmable functions of the K2 HE.

Muted keyboard acoustics

Inside, several layers of damping work together: 3.5 mm EVA foam, EPDM foam, a PET film in the lower housing and a silicone pad reduce resonances and vibrations. The pre-lubricated switches complement this structure. The result is a muffled typing sound with an even stroke – pleasant when writing longer texts and during extended game rounds.

Suitable for Windows, macOS and Linux

The K2 HE supports Windows, macOS and Linux. A system switch makes it easy to switch between Mac and Windows assignments. Additional keycaps for both systems are included. Two different system assignments can be stored directly on the keyboard so that frequently used functions remain in the right place.

Double-shot PBT keycaps in OSA profile

The Special Edition uses double-shot PBT keycaps in an OSA profile. Their shaped surfaces support finger guidance, while the double-shot lettering is abrasion-resistant. The keycaps of this version are not translucent. The RGB lighting therefore sets accents around the keys without illuminating the labels from the inside.

Hot-swap with matching magnetic switches

The switches can be replaced without soldering. Version 1 described here only supports compatible Gateron Double-Rail Magnetic Switches. Gateron Magnetic Jade, Gateron KS-20, Keychron Ultra-Fast Lime and conventional mechanical switches are not compatible with this version. When changing, the right switch family is therefore crucial.

Reinforced and screwed stabilizers

The stabilizers screwed to the board support large keys such as Spacebar, Enter and Shift. Reinforced side panels improve the guidance and fit of the moving elements. This means that even wider keycaps remain controlled and evenly guided when pressed.

North-facing RGB lighting

The north-facing RGB LEDs offer more than 22 lighting modes. Hue, saturation, brightness and effect speed are set in the Keychron Launcher. This allows the lighting to be adjusted to match the workplace or the desired game atmosphere - from restrained colors to moving effects.

4000 mAh battery for wireless operation

The rechargeable lithium polymer battery has a capacity of 4000 mAh. With the lights off, Keychron claims a runtime of up to 110 hours. The actual runtime depends on usage and the selected settings.

Swiss ISO-CH layout in 75% format

This version features the Swiss ISO-CH layout with familiar QWERTZ arrangement and corresponding Swiss key labels. The compact 75% format includes a row of functions and separate arrow keys. Three tilt angles of 5°, 9.34° and 12.43° allow the position of the keyboard to be adjusted to the preferred hand position.

Special features of the K HE series

The K HE series combines wireless connection options with magnetic switches and customizable actuation. In addition to button assignments and macros, it can also be used to influence the trigger point, dynamic reset and evaluation of the actuation depth. These possibilities make the K2 HE particularly interesting for individually tailored gaming and work profiles.
